Information you provide
- Search terms and an optional shipping ZIP code when you request marketplace results.
- A UPC, EAN, or GTIN when you use barcode search. Camera frames and selected barcode photos are decoded in your browser and are not uploaded to or retained by BroElectric Deals.
- An email address, signup source, and selected interests when you join the deal-alert launch waitlist.
- Account identity supplied by the sign-in service and any favorites, alerts, or resale-analysis inputs you choose to save in authenticated features.
Information processed automatically
Hosting, database, security, marketplace, and affiliate providers may process standard request information such as IP address, browser or device details, timestamps, requested URLs, and service logs. BroElectric Deals keeps a first-seen date, the most recent measured-event dates, and up to five successful non-barcode product searches in your browser's local storage. Recent searches stay on that device, can be cleared beside the search box, and are not included in analytics events. At most once per UTC day, the browser may send an aggregate visit event and, after your first commission-tracked retailer click that day, an aggregate converted-visit event. Each contains only a random event ID, a new-or-returning label, a broad page surface, and a server timestamp; no persistent visitor identifier is sent.
When you choose a commission-tracked retailer link, BroElectric Deals also records a cookieless qualified-click event containing a random event ID, deal ID, retailer, link placement, source type, destination hostname, and timestamp. Funnel and click events do not include your search, ZIP code, referrer, account ID, IP address, browser details, full destination URL, or the local first-seen date.
When you use the barcode scanner, BroElectric Deals may record a random event ID, whether you chose the camera or a photo, a broad outcome such as scan success, scan error, results, no results, or search error, and a server timestamp. Scanner analytics do not contain the barcode, image, search query, ZIP code, visitor or account identifier, referrer, IP address field, browser details, device model, or page path.
For every submitted search, BroElectric Deals may record a random event ID, whether the search was typed, selected from a popular or recent-on-device search shortcut, or started by the camera or photo scanner, a broad outcome of results, no results, or error, and a server timestamp. Search measurement does not contain the search term, barcode, ZIP code, result identifiers, visitor or account identifier, referrer, IP address field, browser details, device model, or page path.
Operational reports may group qualified-click counts and affiliate-network commission totals by retailer or affiliate network. These are aggregate comparisons only: click records are not joined to a person, account, or affiliate transaction, and BroElectric Deals does not claim that a specific click caused a specific commission.
To measure mobile speed and stability, the browser may report LCP, INP, and CLS once per metric and broad page surface each UTC day. A sample contains the metric name and value, a home-or-deal-detail surface, a mobile-or-wide viewport class, a random event ID, and timestamp. It does not contain a page path, visitor or account ID, device model, user agent, IP address field, search, ZIP code, referrer, element selector, or attribution target. BroElectric Deals does not intentionally add third-party behavioral advertising pixels to the current site.
How information is used
- Return and improve requested search results, including location-adjusted shipping when a ZIP code is provided.
- Convert a valid scanned product barcode into an exact-identifier search without retaining the image.
- Maintain the deal-alert launch waitlist and, after a compliant delivery channel launches, send requested promotional deal emails and operate user-requested account features.
- Protect the service, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and meet provider requirements.
- Measure qualified outbound clicks and reconcile aggregate retailer performance with affiliate-network commission reports.
- Measure aggregate visitor-day conversion and returning-visitor trends without sending a browser or account identifier.
- Measure aggregate camera-versus-photo scan reliability, result usefulness, and scanner-originated qualified clicks without retaining a barcode or image.
- Measure aggregate search result, empty-result, and error rates without retaining the search term, barcode, ZIP code, or result identifiers.
- Measure aggregate mobile Core Web Vitals and detect performance regressions on key page surfaces.
- Attribute qualifying purchases when you choose a clearly disclosed affiliate link.
Sharing
Information is shared only as needed with infrastructure providers, connected marketplaces or retailers, authentication services, and affiliate networks that perform those functions. BroElectric Deals does not sell personal information. A retailer's or provider's own policy applies to information it receives directly.
Retention and choices
Newsletter waitlist information is retained while the request is active or as needed to honor suppression and compliance requirements. No email-delivery schedule is currently promised. Account-linked information is retained while the feature or account is active, subject to security, legal, and backup needs. Aggregate funnel, click, performance, and commission records are retained for trend and reconciliation reporting. Network transaction references are stored only as one-way hashes; customer identity, address, payment, and order-item details are not stored in the affiliate revenue table. You may clear recent searches with the control beside them, clear all local storage, stop providing a shipping ZIP code, avoid affiliate links, unsubscribe from any promotional email after delivery launches, or request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you submitted through the support and data-request page.
Security and children
Reasonable access controls and service-provider safeguards are used, but no online service can promise absolute security. BroElectric Deals is a general-audience shopping comparison service and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
This notice may be updated as features and providers change. A material update will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
